There are only few movies which represent Asian American community and out of the few, so far "Better Luck Tomorrow" is the best for the youth theme.
The best thing about this movie is that it's paced at real life's pace, it almost feels like you are watching a reality show about some overachiever Asian teenagers and their mischiefs. There are violence, drug, and sex just like any other modern movie, but they are indeed really very necessary to the story. The movie worked its characterization well, I almost compared the gang to the Peanuts gang grown up wrong (I know, I am weird). It ends with a bit shocking open ending, but not as abrupt as this review would ...
