Review of Better Living Through Chemistry (2014) by Scott S — 13 Jun 2014
Sam Rockwell is usually pretty solid, and Olivia Wilde is, well, hot. Throw in a little comedy and this movie is tolerable.
Rockwell's unhappily married character is taking over his father-in-law's drug store in a picturesque town. He runs into pill-popping and equally unhappy Wilde and things begin to happen.
That's about where the movie loses its entertainment value. There were some giggles in the first 30-45 minutes, but once the plot really picks up, the comedy wanes and so does any believability. It just gets a little lazy after that.
