Review of Best in Show (2000) by Paul K — 18 Feb 2010
Hilarious spoof of the dog show world - Spinal Tap with pampered dogs instead of rock stars (is there any difference? - well, the dogs don't do as much talking as the owners in this movie). A lot of cute, stereotyped characters who might become something more, even if their eccentricities and pretensions are being continually lampooned.
The unlikely hero in the group is Eugene Levy - everyone's favorite square, whose sincere and insistent awkwardness makes him oddly hip and sexy. He was actually one of the brains behind this movie, a fact you'll discover if you wait through the credits.
