Richard Linklater brings a smooth, funny and genuine touch to a rather odd story, resulting one of the finer diamonds in the rough of 2012. Jack Black proves that he can hold his own with dry humor, dramatic tone and even an emotional assertion we have rarely seen from the usually slightly manic actor.
