Review of Berberian Sound Studio (2012) by Alec B — 10 Dec 2013
A curious piece of psychological horror. On the one hand, it really pushes the limits on what I am willing to accept in terms of the random vagueness we get from films of this kind. On the other hand, I do appreciate the fact that Strickland keeps the film focused on the art (and terror) of sound design without veering off into standard horror "scares" .
. . its not really a picture for fans of 70s Italian horror, in fact I'm not sure who the intended audience is supposed to be.
