Review of Beowulf & Grendel (2005) by Paul E — 23 Nov 2010
A solid and affecting retelling of the myth, but one that focuses a lot of the viewer's attention on the plight of the troll, Grendel. Gorgeous landscapes, solid acting and a timeless tale. Meat and potatoes film-making that succeeds by not attempting too much.
