Review of Beowulf (2007) by Jishnu R P — 11 Jan 2011
This film is a real grower. First time I saw it it felt like a really long film but days after leave the cinema I couldn't stop thinking about it. There is a simple beauty to this film and an undercurrent of melancholy that suits the culture from which it came.
Stories like this were made to be told time and again and changed in the telling and although it strays from the original tale it has followed in it's tradition and, in my mind at least, been improved.
It may not be for everyone, especially those who can't see past the graphics and the nudity, but I love it.
