Review of Beowulf (1976) by Steve W — 13 Jan 2012
I thought it was a split film. The first half is the basic poem of Beowulf, on how he became a hero by fighting Grendel and then Grendel's mother. But in order to make it a full length feature film, the writers expand on the poem to create a very satisfying action adventure fantasy epic with themes of infidelity and vanity.
With a fantastic Beowulf vs. Dragon showdown and very lifelike CGI (at times), Beowulf is a rousing and action-packed tale that will leave your eyes glued to the screen.
