Review of Benny's Video (1992) by Paul P — 17 Dec 2011
Remember all those Time magazine articles about violent TV, Video Games and Movies warping teenagers' minds? And that one day you would act on these impulses? Well Michael Haneke's 'Benny's Video' takes a shocking and uncomfortable approach to that kind of idea.
That very first scene that brought back memories of 'Portrait of a Serial Killer' for all the wrong reason(so actually the right ones) is terrifying. Not one of the Haneke's best and a second viewing will be a miracle for me but a very strong film and deserves a viewing for fans of the director.
