Review of Benny & Joon (1993) by Ian F — 03 Jan 2014
The film is sweet and charming, and it's anchored by one of Depp's best performances. He is really the only reason to see this. When he's not on screen you are waiting anxiously for him to return.
There is an unneeded and forced sub-plot between Benny (Aiden Quinn, that's right Johnny Depp does not portray Benny or Joon, but instead Sam) and a waitress, and the story is kind of bland but Depp makes the film one to remember (It never gets old watching him do his Buster Keaton schtick).
