Quite a hard slog to watch as an adult, but I would think kids would enjoy it, even today. Takes quite a while to get going - endless footage of the canine hero coming and going pad the running time out to an annoying degree, and it's much more violent than I remember - but that's strangely refreshing in a way.
Beware - there is an inordinate amount of polyester slacks on display.
