Once more, an astronaut finds himself on the Planet of the Apes, but Brent (James Francisus) has come looking for Taylor to try and accertain what happened to him.
Upon taking a trip to the Forbidden Zone, Brent finds the whereabouts of Taylor, who went missing in the early part of the film. Beneath the planet, amongst the ruins of old New York, there lies a race of humans with special mind controlling powers, who worship an unexploded bomb.
