Review of Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) by Cody U — 30 Jan 2010
This could have been a far more worthy sequel to the fantastic original, if only they would have kept Chalton Heston as the leading man and the effects would have been better. The storyline is kind of interesting, but not handled well.
The introduction of the underground, atomic bomb-worshiping mutants is, again, kind of interesting, but handled poorly. The bleak ending was good, but could have been so much more epic and cool.
