Review of Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) by Galaxy Quest P — 29 Dec 2012
It plays a little too much into the first one and follows similar events, until it takes a way left turn and get too ridiculous and turns into a psychic cult at war with the apes. Heston is underutilized and should have been the main focus and his journeys instead of bringing Franciscus in as the main star.
For the first sequel after such an original and great film, it almost looks like they ran out of ideas. The dialogue to the story are very poor and random and take away a lot of the credibility from the franchise.
A big let down after such a strong starting.
