Review of Bend It Like Beckham (2002) by Erika G — 29 Jan 2011
Pleasant charmer of a 'clash-of-cultures' comedy about a plucky London-born Punjabi schoolgirl who pursues her dream of being on the local football team, in spite of the strong objections of her traditional family.
Cliches abound, but at least they have the desired effect. A real crowdpleaser that even soccer non-fans will enjoy.
