Ben-Hur may be not near as successful as its predecessor, but it stands as its own entertaining piece of filmography. The film has great effects, with a cast committed to its craft. Those big fans of the original may be disappointed overall with the 2016 version, yet this film taken as its own individual piece is a interesting blockbuster that really doesn't deserve the hate it's getting.
