Review of Ben-Hur (1959) by Adam E — 22 Mar 2009
An impressive cinematic achievement. Of course, films like these date horribly and its overblown melodrama now feels pretty tongue in cheek. But regardless of how camp the costumes are or how thoroughly American the Middle Eastern setting feels, Ben Hur is visually stunning and the famous race is epic.
A landmark.
