Review of Ben-Hur (1959) by Charles P — 17 Sep 2012
One of my absolute favorite movies of all time. Some may call this a cop out, considering that so many consider it one of the best, but to me, there's a very good reason for my conclusion, that being the characters and their relationships against the backdrop of one of the greatest and most profound moments in history happening behind them.
I see this movie as a perfect comparison for people in their modern lives, Jesus is always there, but not the focus, and while they seek their own petty desires, heedless to His message, He never stops His attempts to help them in any way possible, at times saving them through a sudden miracle, while they, oblivious, continue onward.
