Review of Ben-Hur (1959) by Michael W — 25 Sep 2012
It's a huge story with huge ideas, lavish sets, costumes, sound, color, action, and characters. When they want a chariot race, they film an actual chariot race! But Ben Hur seems to play it safe on the religious themes, as to not to offend anyone.
For that reason (and also Charleton Heston being Charleton Heston) I can only give it 4/5 stars.
