It's easy to see why this movie is considered in such a high regard despite the fact that it's actually the third version of the book.
There isn't really much that I can say about this that you won't have heard before. If you have the time (it's not a short movie at 3 1/2 hours long) then you should definitely try to watch it if you haven't already.
