Review of Below (2002) by Mark N — 10 Apr 2012
Making fantastic use of confined location horror Below is one of my favorite war/chiller films. Simple scares are made highly effective with excellent camera work in organic situations making intelligent use of the locations.
Clever dialogue also anticipates the questions the audience should have and cleverly turns those thoughts back on us. Attention of authenticity helps the atmosphere greatly and is appreciated by those of us with some knowledge of WWII sub-warfare.
With a fine cast and performance all round this is one film I highly recommend to everyone.
