Review of Belly of the Beast (2003) by Frank J — 24 Jun 2006
I was totally taken by surprise by this movie. I wasn't expecting a movie that could live up to the expectation of early Seagal classics such as Under Siege and Out for Justice, but this movie nearly pulled it off.
We all know Seagal has gotten older and bigger and is in the world of Direct to Video now and while his movies haven't been that great of late this one is totally worth a look! The action is great Seagal's display of Aikido is once again uncanning (despite some obvious stunt doubles), and I loved the useage of slow motion fight scenes and gun battles from director Siu-Tung Ching.
Say what you want about this one but it delivers the goods.
