Review of Belle de Jour (1967) by Roger R — 22 Dec 2009
Outrageous and easily a great and daring film on a womens incipient erotic desires, all of which seems to be linked to an abuse of sorts that was suffered in the past. The use of psychology is intriguing, but all that you can get offa book, here, what we see is something personal and realistic, something more tangent to a person that we witness more or less as a fetishist and observer.
Highly sexual and well-acted, this is easily a film of enormous prestige.
