Review of Belle de Jour (1967) by Mark S — 15 Aug 2012
I wasn't sure what to make of this as it was first starting out, and thought I'd perhaps let myself in for one of those 'World Cinema' films that is more about titillation than depth. As it is, this is actually an excellent film and one I may even rate higher upon another viewing.
I now get what all the fuss about Catherine Deneuve is about, and I found this film surprising and sad.
