Review of Belle (2013) by Matt C — 24 May 2014
Its script does its job and not much beyond that, but the production design and acting is so impressive that it it's immersive. Gugu Mbatha-Raw is absolutely terrific and almost carries the entire movie by herself and she has all of the markings of an Oscar nomination, and the sets and costumes are super well designed.
On top of that, it's well paced. That's all I really have to say. Shortest review ever. 8/10, very good, one thumb up, above average, etc.
