Review of Being There (2011) by Johan J — 14 Feb 2009
It's like a subtle version of Forest Gump done in 1979. I guess people love watching a movie about a simpleton being mistook for more than they are. Most films from the 60s and 70s represent the death of film in my eye but this one is less so than others.
The subtext of the film is very well done wether political or personal. I really enjoyed the performance of Melvyn Douglas as the dying old man. Fantastic work.
