Review of Being There (1979) by Barnaby E — 01 Feb 2009
A genuinely brilliant film, with Peter Sellers given a restrained but haunting performance. A clever satire on American greed and government, with a sideswipe at all those preaching messages that sucker the electorate.
It's clever, it's funny, it's touching and it's beautifully filmed and edited. A masterclass in intelligent cinema.
