Review of Being There (1979) by Naoya K — 11 Feb 2010
A smashing satire against the political system which is a big machine. It is also about us humans and our lost innocence. Peter Sellers seems to reach the enlightenment of a comedy actor - one of the best performances I have ever seen on screen.
Shirley MacLaine is super-beautiful, and of course, Melvyn Douglas is awesome. Editing is especially great in this picture.
