Review of Being Julia (2004) by Lucie N — 29 Mar 2008
I do so hate a fake accent! aren't there enough british actresses who could play julia? well known ones that would appease the american public?
In the end it only got distracting very few times, because annette bening does a beautiful job playing the joyful young girl in love - never knowing quite where her character's real self ends and her actor's self begins. though she's by no means consciously a manitulative person.
The story is very good! and so are all the performances accross the board! a very enjoyable experience, even though the music is over the top romantic comedy.
