As I'm not a big fan of Bening I forwent this flick when it debuted despite rave reviews. As it turns out the fuss was about something. An overly emotive, intentionally flamboyant performance works, staying quite wide of being overbearing in this middle of life, what-does-it-all-mean-?, period piece.
