Review of Being John Malkovich (1999) by Peter F — 08 Jan 2013
Of Charlie Kaufman's movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is his most emotional, Adaptation his most personal, and Being John Malkovich is his most wonderfully weird and outright hilarious.
The movie starts out as a surreal take on office politics, which is enough to make it a great film, but when the story introduces it's ingenious plot device it gives the film an air of unparalleled transcendence.
Plus, it's gained a few more laughs with age, considering Charlie Sheen's role in it.
