Review of Being John Malkovich (1999) by Arman P — 22 Jul 2012
"May contain spoiler".
This movie is a new interpretation of the concept of "I" and "death". I, in this worldview, is defined in conjunction with whatever you have feeling for, despite I's physical absence. The ending, where the kid, Jon's kid, is fully submerged in water while you can hear her dominating sound of laughing, is the climax of the movie where it suggests its main point of view. The movie, therein, captures very successfully the continuation of life after death: you are whoever you care about, you are your loved ones.
