Review of Being John Malkovich (1999) by Matt M — 11 Jan 2013
One of the most original works ever brought to the screen, and a collaboration for which director Spike Jonze and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman make use of all their unique creativity. The performances by the cast are just as funny and witty as the script, which is perfectly brought to the screen with a careful and meticulous art direction which makes the film seem all the more interesting with a hint of strangeness and sinister.
Perhaps the film's greatest asset, however, is the seemingly light hearted way in which it deals with some of the deepest existentialist themes.
