Review of Being Ginger (2013) by Jstoodt1 . — 05 Apr 2014
I found this film fresh, light and genuine - a rare set of qualities for a film of this type. It is the central character's willingness to be so openly vulnerable that makes it so compelling. The films exploratory storytelling also gives it life.
I found one aspect of the film fascinating, that is, the way in which people approach/respond a circumstance or event has an enormous impact on their view of themselves and defines their happiness. This is not news and has been exhaustively covered by the self-help talking heads however what's refreshing about this film is that it demonstrates this principle in such a personal and authentic way.
