Review of Being Flynn (2012) by Arseniy V — 28 Jun 2012
When films like this manage to mine their way to the truth - a certain abyss-like sense of freedom tends to make its presence known. This film seldom touches that mark. However, the (quintessentially lefty) safety zone to which it generally confines itself - does feel to be quite a bit lower down than average. Thanks in no small part to its cast, along with the writer's familiarity with the topic.
All that aside, it's just awesome to see De Niro with this much fight left in him. That alone is worth the price of admission.
