Couldn't understand why everyone hated on this movie ---until the end of the film. I believe that De Niro and Dano both give wonderful performances (as usual). I thought, minus the last 15 minutes, that the script was really well done and the indie feel of the movie left me pretty intrigued and waiting for more.

And then the abrupt ending happened. The time jump is incorrect. He says its been a little over a year, but the two new characters introduced with almost no purpose indicate otherwise. Also, Paul Dano ALWAYS looks the same age, no matter how old he's supposed to be. I just thought "wow, what a waste" when the end came and went, leaving me with nothing.
