Review of Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey (2011) by Nora S — 11 Jan 2012
Never been a fan of documentary films, and always have a thought that documentary film is so BORING.. But this film has changed my thought.. Being Elmo A Puppeteer's Journey is the movie that bring back your childhood memory.. I grew up with Sesame Street, especially Elmo.. He was my idol when I was a kid, I learnt english from him, I still remember every morning I watched Sesame Street in television before I got to school... I got myself one Elmo doll and one Elmo hand puppet...
Seeing Clash realise his dream is giving me a goosebump. He worked really hard to be the pueppeteer and worked with his idols, Jim Henson, Frank Oz and others muppeteers..
At The Muppets wotkshop, we see so many drawers that filled with eyeballs, eyebrows, wigs, furs, you could even choose a puppet that you want (I want the horse!).
Through this movie, you can see the skills of a pupeteer are explored and made you more appreciated to what they were doing, being a puppeteer is not that easy as you thought, and you gotta thank them to bring the characters seems to be alive..
