Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey is a lovingly made and highly enjoyable documentary which tells the story of Kevin Clash, the man behind Elmo. The film tells he story of a young Kevin with dreams of being a puppeteer and his journey through Baltimore life, Captain Kangaroo, then ultimately Sesame Street.
Along the way, we get a wonderful behind the scenes look at the world of the muppets, Jim Henson, and children's tv. The movie is wonderfully heartwarming -- especially the scenes with Kevin and some Make-a-Wish kids.
Most touching is the story of a young Kevin meeting his mentor, puppeteer Kermit Love and the full-circle journey of a present day Kevin Clash sharing his knowledge to another young puppet enthusiast.
This wonderful film is highly recommended and one of the best of the year. Check it out!
