Review of Being Charlie (2016) by Olivia D — 08 Sep 2016
Very good performances all around, especially by the films lead Nick Robinson. It is a very familiar story and not the most original, but saying that it still is a well done film with a dark humor element that also has good dramatic feel to it.
This is obviously a very special movie to Rob Reiner, due to the fact that it focuses very much on his own son's drug problem. All in all, it is a simple story, that knows what its material is and features a very effective performance from Robinson, I see big things in his future and he has very good scenes with Cary Ewles who plays his father.
A great family drama also is somewhere in this film. Very good.
