Review of Beijing Bicycle (2001) by Alan M — 15 Nov 2007
I'm being a little generous giving this movie 3/5. I really wanted to see what Beijing looks like, and we get a good look at downtown/uptown/backs-of-beyond-town.
The story floats around a little, and that's why it's good but not great. Rather than having a clear, precise focus, the core story hops around a little, as if the writer / director kept changing his mind what he wanted the movie to be about.
Interesting and definitely worth a look, but not one I'll be going back to again and again.
