Review of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) by Michael S — 05 Jan 2008
"Scream" and "Wes Craven's New Nightmare" helped create the self-aware horror film. "Behind the Mask" takes it to a new level.
Mixing traditional horror film techniques, with documentary style filming and a copious dash of humour makes this movie a delightful dish.
This movie manages to travel the fine line between humour/suspense and horror/spoof with skill. Truly a film that should be in any true horror fan's collection.
