Review of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) by Chris F — 28 Jan 2008
If you grew up on (or, like me, never quite lost the love for) 80s slasher flix, then you seriously owe it to yourself to wallow in this completely genius and massively-entertaining movie. I don't want to wreck anything magical or unexpected about it (and, honestly, I'm not), but the way the movie sort of pivots and shifts in the mid-point.
..from a documentary about a media-savvy and fame-hungry slasher that lives in a universe where Jason and Freddy are not fictitious legends, but real elements of history and inspiration into an actual slasher-movie itself - is blindingly-clever, brilliant and hugely-entertaining.
I absolutely loved this movie.
