Review of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) by Core O — 30 Mar 2008
Best damn slasher movie in a LONG time, maybe ever. Lots of horror movie inside jokes, the segues from "mockumentary" to actual slasher film are seamless (so much so I didn't even notice most of them until I watched again), the movie gives more dimension to the genre than has ever been brought to it.
If it were only a touch more popular, it could have revived the genre like Saw did for the torture genre...in retrospect, maybe it's not so bad this didn't hit it big.
