Review of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) by Dusty S — 19 May 2008

I'm not gonna lie, I really enjoyed this film, however, I think it only appeals to a small demographic. Being a horror movie buff, I enjoyed all the references (some obvious, some not, did you spot Kane Hodder going into the house on Elm Street?) they made to classic horror flicks.

I also enjoyed how they went through all the steps and the process of setting up and carrying out murders. It always seems that guys like Vorhees and Myers just pick random people, but see thats not how it goes according to Leslie.

The film is pretty funny and I did enjoy Nathan Baesel, I think it did a fine job and it was cool to see Robert Englund in a "good guy" role. Yeah, this movie wasn't really scary or even kinda scary but its still a must see for any horror fan as long as you don't take it too seriously.
