Review of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) by Eric H — 13 Jul 2008
This is a slight mockumentary about the seemingly invincible horror icons from the last thirty years and it is quite funny. I do believe that it is much funnier if oyu are a fan of the the Jason, Freddy, and Michael Myers movies, though.
Especially the bits about keeping up with people while appearing to walk and seeming dead for days at a time. Funny throughout, though I did not care for the last act that turned into an actual horror movie, even though it was a logical step in the plot, I just felt that it was not executed with the same amount of originality as the earlier scenes.
And, I found Vernon to be annoying at times, though it is still a good performance.
