Review of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) by Nick R — 06 Nov 2008

This movie was actually really good up until about the last 10 minutes. It gives a unique look into the behind the scenes of a Freddy or Jason esque killer. Lots of creative explanations for how things happen in these movies.

I liked the beginning sequence with the references to Michael, Freddy, and Jason. I also enjoyed repeated visual references to Freddy vs Jason. A few things that bothered me....the second cider press spot.

..hoe freaking cheesy was that whole thing? And #2, how did the the lead actress's shirt get so dirty while she had a jacket on? Other than that, good story with good build. Made Leslie look like the nut case completely comfortable in his own skin.
