Review of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) by Matt F — 30 Nov 2008
Perhaps I was spoiled by Man Bites Dog but this mockumentary starts off somewhat promising (with the exception of a couple of missteps) and then completely unravels in the third act and commits every sin it so conscientiously spent the preceding hour and fifteen minutes (give or take) poking fun at.
I may not be a fan of films as Friday the 13th but one conceit they never labored under was the illusion of undeserved pretension.
