Wonderful film. That's the best way to describe it. It's the best horror film I've seen in a long time.
"Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon" takes the horror genre and exploits it, similar to how "Scream" did in 1996. However, the way it exploits the genre is nothing short of pure genius. (Not that my limited mind truly knows what pure genius is...).
I'm not going to say anything about the plot. You have to see it. To say anything would be to ruin the effect that it has on a viewer who watches knowing absolutely nothing about it. Because that's the way it should be watched. You should watch it knowing nothing about the film. You should watch this film... period. It is a great homage to the classic slasher genre, as well as its classic slashers.
