Review of Behind the Candelabra (2013) by Ethan A — 27 May 2013
While it still has that "made for TV" vibe, Behind the Candelabra is nevertheless a fine film with some Emmy worthy performances from Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. This drama of the hidden love life between famed flamboyant entertainer Liberace and his secret gay lover is a touching, often depressing, but never boring film from Steven Soderbergh, one of the most versatile and acclaimed directors of our generation.
This is a worthy swan song to his career that has only gotten better as time went on.
