Review of Behind the Candelabra (2013) by Ryan R — 28 May 2013
Mildly entertaining bit of fluff that features Michael Douglas somehow believably playing a flamboyant queen, and Matt Damon somehow believably playing a man in his early twenties. (And in a speedo! Holy crap!) They both did an admirable job with a story that was mostly pretty by-the-numbers.
I guess it's good that we've progressed to the point that it's acceptable to portray the most dysfunctional and horrible gay relationship ever? That's what I'm going with. Though it wouldn't surprise me if some right wing politicos and websites took the movie as some sort of vindication.
